Back in the days before kids (B.K.), I used to work for American Standard in their corporate offices here in New Jersey. I worked in their transportation and logistics department and my job was to make sure that product got to where it needed to be, as quickly as possible.
Which later would prove to be quite helpful, A.K. (after kids) raising 4 children attending 4 different schools.
Today, I am very proud to partner with the good folks at American Standard to help share information about the Flush For Good campaign and, in doing so, help 40 communities in need!
Oh, and we get to share a $200.00 gift card to Lowe’s or Home Depot, because we roll like that.
First, about the campaign: did you know that, across the world, over 1.5 billion people are STILL living without access to sanitary water or a proper toilet? American Standard saw this as a problem and created the Flush for Good campaign to try to help.
The campaign is designed to increase awareness of the global water sanitation crisis and to stimulate action that protects the health of all people through well-engineered plumbing solutions.
American Standard has developed technology to improve sanitation in developing countries: throughout the campaign, American Standard will donate a sanitary toilet system to a community in need and has reached out to various online blogging communities for help in spreading the word.
As a former American Standard employee, B.C. (before children), I am very honored to take part in this campaign and I am more than happy to support their commitment to help educate folks (like me!) about this very important issue.
Aaaaaand, guess what?!? You (yes, YOU!!!) just helped make a difference: just by your reading this blog post, our friends at American Standard will donate 40 sanitary toilet pans, to help 40 communities, in our honor!!!
Because nice matters, poverty sucks and helping others less fortunate just feels right. Right?!?
