Flip-Worthy Moments: Tip Me Baby, One More Time! from Liz Thompson on Vimeo.
I recently attended a Mom Bloggers Event (that shall not be named) and arrangements were made (by someone else) to drive me from New Jersey to Philadelphia (2 hours) but, should I have tipped the guy and how much?
But, wait there's plenty more Flip-Worthy Moments where that came from and I've got a new post running on the Imperfect Parent, as well!
Because, I would much rather spend my morning with you guys, than doing housework, dammit…how 'bout you?

Love the video and I think you look great.
As for the tip, yea I would have to say that was pretty cheap but possibly the company tipped the driver in advance? We are pretty good tippers all around. We pay the limo driver to the airport approx. $20 each way and it’s an hour drive.

Hi Angie,
Ah crud. It’s official, then. I am cheapskate. Well, not as cheap as A-list movie stars from what my driver was telling me. And, it really was my last $5. So, I don’t feel so bad.
Sort of.

I enjoyed your video and am a new follower to your blog. I followed you here from the Motherhood! I am really enjoying reading your articles!
Anyways, I feel awful for saying this, but yea, I would say that you “should have” probably tipped more. BUT – in your defense, you couldn’t have because you literally didn’t have it…so oh well, it’s in the past. But, yes, $5 is not good for a 2 hr. trip. My husband is a casino dealer and makes minimum wage plus tips…and I imagine him getting $5 for dealing to a guy for two hours and well…I don’t even want to tell you what he says when the guy gets up and leaves.
Great blog!

Hi Angela!
Welcome and thank you for your honesty. My husband, Garth (not his real name) and I generally tip 20% when we’re out to dinner and, thankfully, are treated very nicely, more often than not. On the other hand, considering I’ve got school age kids, I can’t help but feel like I’m handing out money, left and right. Class parties, teacher’s gifts, etc… In this case, I honestly didn’t know what to do. Thanks to you guys, next time, I’ll know better.

Hi! I love reading your blog, and have never commented before, but thought I’d come out of the closet for you :)! First off, I think you look great for a first thing in the morning video. We should all be so lucky!
I hate to say this, but I think I might have tipped him a little bit more (yikes – sorry)! I would be willing to bet, however, that the company that hired him tipped him already. When I travel for personal stuff, I always try to tip and thank everyone appropriately, but it gets really expensive after awhile. When I travel for business (aka on an expense account), I will always tip more though. They have way more money than I do – haha!
I love reading your blog and hearing about your family :)!

Hi Kelli!
Thank you for coming out of the closet (although, if yours are anything like mine, I couldn’t have been very comfortable) and please don’t ever feel like you need to apologize for expressing your thoughts here. Not in my house. Unless, you make a crack about how dirty it is or I’ll have the dust bunnies attack. They are mean bunch of little suckers 🙂

Just got this from a wonderful reader:
Here’s where you can find a list of *suggested* tipping practices for the United States
http://www.tipping.org/tips/us.html
Now if you were in a limo, you should tip the driver 20% of the bill.
If it was a taxi, then 15% of the fare for the driver (no less than 25 cents) and if he helps with your luggage $1 per bag up to 5 bags or $2 per bag for 5 bags or more (or if the bags are very heavy – like over 50lbs. Each)

Good link! I need to use that, because I too am always tipping and probably OVER-tipping (which we really can’t afford) because my husband earns his wage off tips. I am always clueless on what to tip my hairdresser! I know I give probably wayyy too much. The other day I gave her $25 for doing my highlights!?
