Taken on their one (and ONLY) snow day, this winter – 2/28/03 – the kids were dressed and out the door by 6:45 a.m. Go figure!

There’s an interesting article in USA Today about how babies can cause "momnesia", the mental fuzziness and memory lapses that set in shortly after childbirth.
The article goes on to give expert opinions on the subject and why some women would be reluctant to talk about their memory problems. One that hit home, for me, was for fear of
being judged poorly at work.
Uh-huh.
NOT just at work and It doesn’t go away, either. Still. If you’re wondering (or, worried) about the long-term effects of "momnesia," don’t sweat it. Take it from me – nearly 15 years of working in the trenches – here are 13 reasons why I do NOT think you’re crazy.

The MOMocrats are pissed at radio talk show host Bill Cunningham for his recent anti-Obama rant at a McCain rally, where old school name calling tactics were employed to reduce the American political process to a new level of bullying; implying that Barack Obama is a "terrorist" because of his family name.
I happen to agree with them and that’s why I’m participating in their "Just Call Me Hussein" meme, and telling our name stories.
Here’s mine:
The kids and I left town, this weekend – yes, ALL of us and my husband DID know about it – because, well, you see, I haven’t been feeling "quite right" lately.
No, I’m not sick.
[knocking on wood until knuckles bleed]
But, for reasons too long to go into, here (you’re welcome) if you really want to know, I’m hashing it all out at The Imperfect Parent, today.
Anyhow, I’ve been at this mommy gig long enough to know that raising a family isn’t always going to be all sunshine and rainbows – although, my kids really do make me smile and, more often than not, laugh SO hard, my face hurts – I’ve been hollering at the children way too much, lately, and by the time I woke up on Friday morning, I was ready to toss in the towel and called it a day.
So, I packed my bags and ran home to my mommy!
