The Boy turned 9 today
He came downstairs in the usual way
But the cat is sick and Grandpa’s surgery’s today
I was sad that we would be away
And he was talkin’ ‘fore I knew it, in a calm sort of way
He said, "I’m gonna be okay, don’t worry mom
You know he’s gonna need Dad and you"
Happy Birthday, my boy – who knew turning 9 could be so SWEET!
