Video Blogging From A Momblogger’s Perspective: Well, yes, thank you and why the hell not!?!?

My friend, Jenn (you know, Mommy Needs Coffee, she talks funny) asked me if I'd like to join in on a fun project over at TheMotherhood.com and show people just how easy it is to video blog.

Why?

Because, I've sort of been playing around with video taping my blog posts, once a week, since October and she knows, if I can do it then…um…well, let's just say that if a spaz like me can figure out how to use a video camera, then everyone's gonna wanna do it, right?

So, I joined the Sisterhood of the Traveling Flip and started, you know, flipping, unscripted, unrehearsed real life sort of stuff and it was good.

Until.

I flipped out and got caught crying in front of the camera.

Oh, those silly mombloggers!

Yeah, I guess one could argue the silliness — not to mention, the reason why someone would purposely want to engage in such displays of desperate behavior in publishing the mother of all train wrecks –  but, seeing as I happen to be the mother (of all train wrecks) in question, I feel it safe to say that blogging it kept me from doing something I would REALLY regret.

Like, scream at my middle girl for making a mistake and for her poor judgment, rather than realize that the poor thing was in pain and perhaps bleeding out, for a second time.

Nope, I would much rather break down in front of the Internets.

[heavy sigh]

Then, the Sisterhood spoke (literally) and I felt the warmth of their support from way over here in Jersey (where, we STILL have snow on the ground) and it was good.

But, I could imagine what Jenn was thinking.

"Liz, sweetie, you know my rule. You have seen it in action. "No one cries alone in my presence." Which includes videos."

You see (along with my friends at TheMotherhood) she already knows that we mombloggers travel in tight circles and no amount of makeup or hairspray is going to hide the fact that we are ALL made up of many different layers that blog readers don't always get a chance to see.

Like, the video I made after I, you know, flipped out:

You know, to back up all the text I just threw at ya!

I really admire your ability and willingness to put yourself out there like that, even when you are feeling more emotional than usual.
I am committed to being true to myself on my blog, but I’m not yet comfortable sharing myself that much. I find it very inspiring that you do.
