A few years ago — long before Twitter and SEO’s ruled the Internets — someone came up with MILF and I thought…ICK!…and then I had this idea of hosting a weekly series of photos and blog posts targeted towards more frazzled-out and frustrated moms, like me.
Then, with just one click, I blew up my blog and lost 2 years of eye candy!
[bows head in a moment of silence]
I think it’s about time we resurrect some good old-fashioned mommy porn of our own; hopefully, translating it as NOT having to feel guilty about wanting to stay in bed and pulling the covers over your head, or worry about how you should probably be doing something a little more, you know, constructive instead.
Like, food shopping, doing laundry, or something.
Riiiiight.
I don’t think so!
In fact, Mommy’s Little Eye Candy will make you LOVE Mondays…yeah, that’s right…or, help you forget the worry and stress you feel about the rest of the week.
For a little while, at least.
[big toothy grin]
Ready for this week’s Eye Candy?
Meet my favorite handy man – he’s Mike Holmes, the craftsman with integrity and super adorable contractor from the award-winning Holmes on Homes, my favorite renovations program airing in its 7th season on HGTV, BBC Canada and TLC here in Jersey!
"I’ve been fixing a lot of sloppy, lazy and dangerous work for the past two decades."
Basically, Mike steps in and helps out homeowners who have been ripped-off by a contractor.
"I think it’s time to expose the work of these so-called contractors
and help some homeowners make informed decisions. I want to take the
word ‘minimum’ out of the construction industry and stop the slow death
of craftsmanship"
On April 26, 2006, Mike launched The Holmes Foundation,
a charitable foundation to support the training of youth in the skilled
trades, through apprenticeships, scholarships and bursaries.
Mike — along with Brad Pitt’s Make It Right Foundation — is also working on building a new home in New Orleans for a family who lost everything in the devastation of Hurricane Katrina.
This week, with Hurricane Gustav expected to hit landfall on the United States in the next couple of hours, all of my friends on the Gulf Coast are on my mind and in my prayers as they
brace themselves for yet another brutal battle with Mother Nature.
Seriously, it’s guys (and gals) like these that are helping to rebuild America’s faith in the human spirit and reinforce our ability to band together in a time of need. We can help by clicking over to HolmesOnHomes.com and then making a donation (found on their left sidebar) to the Holmes Foundation and Help Make it Right!
Oh, aaaaand just like my husband, Garth (not his real name) Mike is SO cute when he gets all mad and angry, too!
My job is done here — go in peace!

I didn’t even know that you guys got to see Mike in the States (let alone him being a guest on Ellen!)
I wish there were more contractors like him. People that took price in their work and weren’t in it just for the money.
Scratch that – I wish more people took pride in their work. Period.
Excellent choice for eye candy!

I love Holmes on Homes! Mike is a perfectionist. His female eye candy he has running around swinging hammers doesn’t hurt, either… (Corin, call me!)
