I got tagged by SoCalMom…cough…cough…WITCH!…cough…with the Archive Meme, which was started by a blog called the108. The idea is to go back through your archives and post five links to your favorite blog posts that you’ve written in 2007. But, there’s a catch:
- Link 1 must be about Family
- Link 2 must be about Friends
- Link 3 must be about Yourself (i.e., what you’re all about)
- Link 4 must be about Something You Love
- Link 5 can be Anything You Choose
It’s a good thing I managed to
salvage most of my archives, after a nearly DISASTROUS blog explosion
we experienced here, in October.
Because, I am SUCH a dork!
But,
I love Donna and was SO happy to hug her, kiss her and make her feel
all creepy in person – really, she gives good blog – so, I’m going to
go ahead and do this thing. Unfortunately, comments may be missing
from the original posts.
Cough…cough…DORK…cough…anyway, hold onto your readers, here we go…links to my favorite posts… with pictures, even:
Link 1 – Family
Taking care of a teenager, an
almost teenager, The Boy who would consider doing anything to get a
brother, even if it means selling his baby sister, things in our house
tend to get a little…um…well, you know, a little mixed up. Not to
mention, sticky. Last year found Garth (not his real name) and me
focusing less on the little things and more on the health and wellbeing
of…our parents. I guess you can say that we are caught between
generations, right now. We haven’t had much time to ourselves, to
speak of. No matter, since we do NOT know whether we’re coming, or
going. But, we have FINALLY learned to ask for help (thank you, Aunt
Mykidslikeyoubetterthanme) and I have even found myself accepting parenting tips from dead people.
Link 2 – Friends
What friends? Seriously, it’s
work, home, kids, family, rinse and repeat. Thankfully, my SIL (you
know, the one the kids like better, than me) moved back home to Jersey
and we’ve been able to reconnect. Heck, fart and hallelujah, we WERE
friends long before I even met Garth (not his real name) and she’s the
one who set us up on a blind date, in the first place. She was a big
help to her brother, Garth (not his real name) and the reason why I was
able to attend BlogHer ’07 (that’s Jenny, Me, Amber, Shannon and Shannon
doing our best, at dealing with the humidity, that is Chicago in July)
I even took on a couple of speaking engagements (gosh, I hope she talks
better than she writes) and experienced a virtual Mommy Blogger’s Holiday, for real!
Link 3 – About Myself
Frankly, there’s very little you do NOT know about me already (right, Dana)
especially, if you’ve visited with me anytime during the last 4 years
of my blogging – but, last year I’ve actually learned something about
myself – I’m finally flying fearless – and it only took me, what, 43 years!?!?
Link 4 – Something I Love
That’s easy – Garth (not his real name) of course – my husband and I
have been married for nearly 18 years. Dangit – it always sounds SO
much longer, when I type it? Although, the moments we spend together,
alone, ARE far and few in between – we have kids, remember? – the times
we DO actually get out for a mommy and daddy play date are precious and
makes for really good blog fodder!
Link 5 – Mixed Bag (like nuts, you know)
2007 was ALL that – AND a bag of smiley fries, too – BUT we feel
very fortunate to have spent most of our free time in Cape May, NJ – attending a very dear friend’s wedding and celebrating the start of our summer vacation
– yep, quiet little getaways does a mommy (and daddy) good. It’s what
we do best, really, here at This Full House of sticky-sweet. But, at
the end of the day, if the kids are happy and the hubs decides to, you
know, come home – really, I’ve seen him sitting in the car and
wondering whether, or not, he should back out of the driveway, QUICK –
then, my friends, my job IS done. Oh, and just so you know, some
people think I look wicked hot using a Swiffer.
Phew.
[slaps bangs out of eyes]
That was harder than I thought…cough…you’re SUCH a witch, Donna…cough and I’m supposed to tag five other people.
Did I mention that I am NOT very good at following rules, either?
[shrugs shoulders]
My hands are tired and I’ve got a couple of deadlines to meet,
Thankyouverymuch, so I guess I’ll just end this very long post (your
welcome!) and say, WHAT? You still here?
Let me know, IF you’re STILL awake, so I know where to send the check!

Aw, Liz — I’m so sorry about tagging you (yeah, I probably should have warned you that going through your archives to pick the best posts would be time consuming, but I figured you already knew that). Besides you did such a good job (Photos, too! You’re such an overachiever!!)
LOVED the posts you picked. Still laughing over trying to get a mojito in an Irish pub 🙂 (We will have to have a few when we go to BlogHer in July!!)

I love those photos. The one of us always makes me chuckle. And those fries still crack me up.
This was a great meme. I’m just glad you didn’t tag me. Phew… dodged a bullet!
