Yep, I have a twin brother and we ARE Geminis; freaky…huh?
My Mission:
- Recognize and acknowledge members of the U.S. armed forces and their families.
- Show support and let them know that they are NOT forgotten.
- Contribute and dedicate one blog post, every Friday, in tribute
to those who stand ready to die in order to protect our freedom AND the
freedom of others.
- Honor their service and sacrifice by finding ways in which we can ALL pay tribute.
- Create, dedicate and update a Wall of Honor listing the names of soldiers and their families entered into the weekly roll.
Like Sgt. Olmsted, my bruh-thuh is my hero and the inspiration behind Red, White and Blue Fridays – you’re more than welcome to join me, it’s easy, just click here and see – as I dedicate THIS inaugural post in tribute to those who stand ready to defend our freedom AND the freedom of others.
Today, I learned that I am NOT the only one who doesn’t always know how to say, "Thank you;" have you seen this one, yet?
Join the campaign, post a link to the video, display the badge, send a message to our troops (or, take a moment to leave a comment for someone who did) and remember to say:
"Thank You"
I just did – it’s easier than you think!
Is there anyone you’d like to pay tribute to? Not a problem – the auto roll will look like the one showing above – all you have to do is leave your name, their name, or link to a blog post (like I did in the example above) with one simple line:
"Thank you!"
Be sure to grab a badge:
The Code:

It will link back to Red, White and Blue Fridays, enabling other bloggers to join in paying tribute to our soldiers and their families.
Regardless of the fact that you are a democrat, republican, liberal,
independent, conservative, left wing, right wing, or a giant purple
people-eater – WHATEVER – wouldn’t it be nice if we could ALL
just…you know…come together and NOT be afraid to flaunt our red,
white and blue….yeah…I mean, that’s what the blogosphere is
for…YES?
Any questions, or trouble copying the code, feel free to email Liz at: thisfullhouse@verizon.net
Thank you for taking the time to stop by – support our troops, bring them home, treat them right – HOOAH!

All politics aside – really, I
don’t even know who I’m voting for yet – I am trying to focus on the
all the GOOD things that our guys and gals are doing over there, here and
everywhere.
I was very moved by the kind thoughts, emails and comments left regarding my tribute to Major Olmsted, who was killed, in Iraq, on January 3, 2008.
So, I’ve decided to make a commitment and dedicate one blog post to simply say:
In memory of Sgt. Olmsted, I dedicate Red, White and Blue Fridays to my only sibling; my twin brother, who my kids affectionately refer to as, Uncle Bud.
Yes, I have a twin and – unlike me – my children absolutely adore their Uncle Bud.
He is currently serving full-time in the Army National Guard and his
unit is scheduled to deploy to…somewhere…far, far away…sometime
in the spring of 2008.
Thank you for your thoughts, everyone.
Although, there is nothing I can say that will change that anytime
soon – unless, the government acknowledges that…you know…he does
have ONLY one kidney and his medical leave comes through – showing our
soldiers support is my priority number one.
Let’s keep it going, okay?
