Meet Major Andy Olmsted – he gave his life on January 3, 2008 in the service of others – please, I ask that you take the time and read his last post from the front lines – feel free to share your thoughts here, if you wish, and pray for peace; that is all.

To my twin brother (yep, my kids adore their Uncle Bud) and all the soldiers serving over there, here and everywhere, "HOOAH!"

I read about his loss earlier this week and was touched by his blog postings. How sad….yet how lucky we are to have this glimpse. He was a unique, forward-thinking individual.
I hope you’ll drop by for a peek at my WW contribution:

This has been so sad, and so many people go through it so often.
Thinking of your brother!

What a lovely tribute. Thanks for bringing it forward. My thoughts to you and your family – waiting while others serve is a service in itself.

I don’t understand why our government would rather let our citizens get killed than just pull out of Iraq and let them work out their own problems. I just don’t get it at all. My heart goes out to that man’s family.

All politics aside – really, I don’t even know who I’m voting for yet – I am trying to focus on the all the GOOD things that our guys and gals are doing over there and everywhere.
Something I believe that traditional media isn’t very good at, yet.
Thank you for your thoughts, everyone – showing our soldiers support is priority number one – let’s keep it going, okay?

Every death over there is a tragedy–they are all amazing men and women. My thoughts and prayers are with the Major’s family, our brave soldiers, and all their loved ones.

I had no idea you had a twin brother, let alone one in Iraq. I’m glad you clicked over to the article. It’s brutal. To write one’s own epitaph? I can’t even imagine.
Godspeed to Uncle Bud and all his compadres over there.

Here’s to all the men and women making great sacrifices daily for our country! That is something that transcends politics.
Great tribute, my friend!
